i am a mass of chemicals coordinated by the will to live, and with the ability to acknowledge my seperate existence, as opposed to the theoretical existence of the rest of the universe, including you.

As Michael Scott Wayne Gretzky said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. I can’t think of a single quote that is more applicable to life and pushing forward.
So often we are so terrified that we are going to mess up, that we pass up incredible opportunities and don’t take chances, why?  Is it from fear that someone will look at you and only see your mistake? Is it because you’re afraid of being judged? Or are you afraid of doing something amazing? I sure hope it isn’t the last one.  As for the other 2 possibilities, I’m going to relate them to something I know well, sports.
When you think of Michael Jordan, you think of an awesome ball player that ruled the courts and his life.  Did you know that his field goal percentage (the total percentage of shots he made) was only 49.7% (thanks NBA.com)?  HE MADE LESS THAN HALF OF THE SHOTS HE TOOK! But do people remember all of those misses? No. We remember the insane last second 3-pointers to tie up a game, putting it up when the opportunity was right.
Sometimes in life, you’re going to miss, you’re going to mess up, but you learn from it and brush it off.  Every time you do something wrong or something doesn’t go as planned, that means you’re one step close to finding success and happiness.  People remember what you did well, your mistakes fade with time.
So many people miss opportunities when they really have no reason to hold back. Take risks and challenge yourselves, you only live once.
Here’s to the missed opportunities. Now quit missing them and fucking go for it already.
Ever wish you’d taken a chance on something?

i just love wayne gretzky.
